Given my policy is to apply the corrections Novello published to the first edition I have done so in B of Part 1. However, since some people complain that the fall back and meet before the couples slip down makes the dance over-busy, I shall point out that this was a ‘correction’, and in the first edition Cecil Sharp simply said couples meet, without the preceding fall back. (The other complaint is that Cecil Sharp added a fall back and come forward before the star, to be consistent with the third part, but others think that to pad out Playford’s hands-across we should have right hand star, left hand star instead of fall back, come forward and star right.)
